Data security policy

Version:3.1 | Last update: October 2023

The security of our customers’ data is of paramount importance to us. This document provides an overview of the technical and organisational measures we have taken to keep your data safe.

Certified european data centres

Our main database and your feeds are stored in European data centres owned by AWS (an Amazon Company). These data centres meet strict security requirements and certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018 and are also GDPR-compliant. Read more here.

Encryption

We encrypt data whenever possible. This means both during transport with TLS, the industry standard, and during storage. The disks in our data centres are all encrypted at rest. We use modern TLS implementations and strong encryption choices.

Data replication

To ensure the security and consistency of your data, we regularly back up your data both on-site and off-site. In the event of a disaster, we are able to recover quickly because we regularly test our data recovery procedure. We have also automated our infrastructure in such a way that we can easily switch to another infrastructure region.

Data consistency

We do everything possible to avoid losing your products or confusing your ads. That is why we are strict about data consistency. We use stable and mature relational database technology and a strongly typed data model to achieve this.

Anonymisation

By default, Qmica automatically anonymises all customer data processed, e.g. order connections, after 90 days. Amazon is an exception, there data is anonymised after 30 days. Qmica retains only certain information that is fundamental to optimise processes.

Auditability

Actions within our tool are logged and tracked in an accurate, structured format for auditing purposes. Server logs are aggregated centrally. This allows us to detect anomalies. We also keep detailed statistics on the performance of our infrastructure.
